Adrian’s sixth solo album launched
KATHMANDU: The evening of August 29 at Attic Bar, Tangal was filled with fun and melody at the launch of singer Adrian Pradhan's new album Abhiwaadan. He performed some of his new numbers as well as old hits.
Abhiwaadan — Pradhan's sixth solo music album after Aaja, Ballads, Janani, Saath and Khushi — was launched by Bhanu A, one of the founders of 1974 AD along with a few other musicians.
"The album consists of eight songs in rock and slow style,” Pradhan informed. Some of the numbers in this album include Hamrai Ho, Urvashi and Kati Samjhaye. Also for the first time you will get to hear a female voice in Pradhan's album. Rajina Rimal has lent her voice for the song Urvashi.
It is Pradhan's first album post his split with 1974 AD. And addressing the incident, he expressed, “Whatever happened, has happened. But, life has to move on and as I can’t live without music and as it is my profession, I am here with the
new album."
Nonetheless, while Pradhan was singing a line — Itihaas Aafai Kornu Chha — a line from his title track Abhiwaadan, it felt like Pradhan needs to create history on his own. The other line — Karma Hare Shiva Huncha Bichitra — from his old number Pinjada Ko Suga too gave a similar feel.
As Pradhan came up with Birsera Malai the audience started singing along with him making the evening more pleasant.
Pradhan also put forth his hit numbers Nabhana Mero, Sara Khusi among others. He entertained the audience also with his song Tere Saath Saath in a different tune than the original — he sang it at a faster beat.
Meanwhile, Hamrai Ho from the new album made the audience realise the things he has talked about in the songs are the identity of Nepalis. He also highlighted the problems in the country with his lines ...Banda Hadtaal Hamrai Ho, Fohor Maila... Hamrai Ho, Load shedding... Hamrai Ho.
There were some funny numbers like Chopstick too. And the audiences had a good laugh when he sang Wallet Ma Chhaina Maya Mero Ke Chha Bichar Timro… Gojima Paisa Chhaina ...Kasari Bhanu Timlai Bill Gates Mero Dad Hoina. — HNS
