Suryodaya Honour:

A programme was held at the Suryodaya Secondary School on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti on July 13. Litterateur Ramesh Bikal was honoured with the ‘Suryodaya Honour 2006’. Diamond Samsher Rana was the special guest, while Hom Nath Bhattarai was the chief guest of the function. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Inter-school Poetry Competition. Students, who passed the 2062 SLC examination with distinction and in the first division, were also congratulated. Bhanu quiz:

The fourth Shuv-Bhanu Inter-School quiz was organised on the occasion of 193rd birthday of the first Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya and in memory of late Shuv Gurung, the founder mother of Shuvatara School, on July 13 at Shuvatara International School, Lamatar. Participants were quizzed on their knowledge of Nepali culture and tradition, religion, language and customs. A preliminary round of the quiz had been held earlier in which 25 schools had participated. Five schools made it to the final round. Senior poet Bairagi Kaila was the programme’s chief guest. Young poets:

In honour and rememberance of the great Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya, Wilson academy paid tributes to him and held a poetry competition for the students of the junior and senior levels on July 13, the poet’s birth anniversary. The poems were written and recited by the students themselves.
