Daughter’s lump scares Lopez

LONDON: Jennifer Lopez endured a terrifying health scare just weeks after her baby twins were born, she discovered a lump on daughter Emme's head.

Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were ecstatic when they welcomed twins Max and Emme, now 15 months old, into the world last year).

But the stars feared the worst after they found a terrifying contusion on Emme's head when she was only three weeks old - and took her to medics immediately to get to the bottom of the bump.

And Lopez recalls telling her husband that she would never be the same if the mysterious lump turned out to be something serious.

She tells E! Online, "We both got very nervous, very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet.

"I looked at (Marc) and I said, 'You know if anything happens, I'm not going to be okay, you know that right?'"

After several tests Emme received the all clear, but the shock forced Lopez to think of those less fortunate than herself.

She recalls, "I started to wonder, what if I couldn't afford a doctor, or receive the medicines, the procedures?"

Soon after, Lopez helped found the Maribel Foundation along with Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles, where Emme was taken - in a bid to offer paediatric health care for those who can't afford treatment.
