Divorce on Allen's school curriculum
LONDON: English singer Lily Allen, whose marriage to Sam Cooper is believed to be on the rocks, has called for an “introduction to divorce” to be taught in schools.
The 30-year-old Smile hit-maker’s four-and-a-half-year marriage to Cooper has been the subject of split rumours for several months and the speculation has now been further fuelled by a phone-in chat she spontaneously took part in on LBC Radio on February 10, reported Female First.
Presenter Shelagh Fogarty was hosting a discussion about teaching in British schools on the London station when she brought up Allen’s Twitter spat with British Education Minister Nick Gibb over the absence of lessons in “real life skills”.
Shortly after, the singer decided to call in to the show to speak on the topic and called for more life skills to be taught.
When Shelagh asked what would be the perfect Allen curriculum, she replied, “An introduction to divorce! I don’t know… things that everybody needs to know about!”
Shelagh then asked, “Is there something that you need to tell us Lily?”
To which the pop star responded, “The dangers of marriage. It’s just life skills isn’t it?”
Allen and Cooper, who have two daughters, Ethel, four, and three-year-old Marnie, have rarely been seen in public together for months and they have both been spotted without their wedding rings.
It is believed that Cooper moved out of the family home in December in 2015.
