Get ready for Miss Teen Nepal

KATHMANDU:

Here’s a chance and a platform for our talented teenaged girls to shine. One of the most awaited talent shows of the year, ‘Clean and Clear Miss Teen Nepal 2007 — A Cultural Talent Show’, organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nepal, is scheduled to be held on September 7.

This was announced at a press meet held on August 21.

Miss Teen Nepal is the only pageant that focuses on the talent and potential of teenaged girls of Nepal, and this is the fifth year since JCI Kathmandu (Kathmandu Jaycees) started the pageant.

The names of the participants and the programme schedule were also announced at the meet, which was attended by Suman Shrestha, President of JCI Nepal, Sushil Babu Shrestha, Executive Vice President, Divakar Dhaubhadel, Project Chairman for Miss Teen Nepal 2007, and Sambridhi Rai, second runner-up of Miss Teen Nepal 2006, among others.

Fifty-seven girls aged between 16-19 years had applied for the contest, out of which

20 were shortlisted by the organisers.

The 14-day training session for the participants will start from August 22. Photo session and a cultural tour of Bhaktapur Durbar Square have been scheduled for August 24 and September 1 respectively.

Apart from the Miss Teen Nepal 2007, first and second runners-up, the girls will be vying for six other titles, namely Miss Personality, Miss Talent, Miss Intelligent, Miss Congeniality, Best Dress and Miss Photogenic.

The responsibility of grooming the girls has been put on choreographer Prabha Amatya’s shoulders. The Himalayan Times is the official print media of the event. — HNS
