Honouring women of substance

It won’t be wrong to say beauty and brains make a lethal combination. Today’s women are successful, talented, confident and independent. And these qualities among others will be honoured at the third annual Vow Top 10 College Women Competition 2006 Awards ceremony scheduled to be held at Hotel Yak & Yeti on February 4.
The Vow Top 10 College Women Competition is an annual even that aims to celebrate the achievements of young, versatile, talented and promising women students of Nepal.
The competition had overwhelming response from students all over Nepal with more than 200 women students of +2, Bachelors and Masters level sending in their applications.
The short-listed applicants selected through an in-house selection process will face a panel of eight judges on the day of the awards. The panel of judges are Dr Asha Basnyat, Dr Banu Sharma, Dr Pratima Pandey, Ujjwal Satyal, Shikha Prasai, Sadhana Shrestha, Sapana Thapa and Sangeeta Niroula.
“The event provides a platform for young women to share their versatility and talent in a competitive and encouraging environment. The message being that anything is possible if you set your heart to it.
Nepal has tremendous potential in the younger generation, these women are truly the stars of tomorrow and the future of the future of the nation as professional, entrepreneurs, daughters, wives, and friends,” says Shalini Wadhwa, CEO and managing editor of Vow.
