In a ghostly dilemma
Is there anything called a ghost? Have you ever seen a ghost? What does a ghost look like?
These are some questions frequently asked by young ones as like me they too are in a dilemma regarding the thing or things we call ghosts.
A week ago I had a discussion on ghosts and spirits with my classmates. I had heard that a spirit of dead person could be called by planchet. I didn’t know how this worked and had asked my classmates about it.
They narrated many stories about people who had actually been called back from the spirit world to converse with them. I was not only shocked but also in a dilemma as my parents had recalled stories contradicting the existence of ghosts.
That day even our teachers talked about the ghosts like Rankhe bhoot, 12 o’clock and so on. That entire day only one word — ghost — kept reverberating in my mind.
At home, I narrated the stories to my elder brother. He brother does not believe in ghost or God, but he surprised me that evening saying he too called done planchet with his friends three years ago.
After dinner, I went to the balcony and kept thinking about the things that had happened recently. “Are the stories which I heard in school really true?” These questions kept revolving in my mind. I am still in dilemma. Can you help me clear my doubts?
