Jazz workshop for students

KATHMANDU: The music was amazing, as was the crowd of enthusiastic students. Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students (SEBS) in association with Upstairs Ideas organised a Jazz workshop for the students of Budhanilkantha School. Prajesh Thapa, president, SEBS, said that the main objective was to promote music as a part of extracurricular activities.

The warm up began with an young group playing “Watermelon Man” and “Chameleon”.

Students got heated up with ‘hooo-cheu’ of Shillong band. They loved what they played and sang. “Make hay while sun shine” got all enthused. The members of the band said that they felt great playing for students.

“Kooch”, “Funky Monkey” of another band followed with the announcement of the selection of new bands from different schools. The best one will get to perform with the Jazz musicians next year. Then Max Lolo took centre stage with his fabulous numbers. — HNS
