LONDON: Former glamour model Jordan said she was "devastated" by her husband, Peter Andre's decision to split after more than four years of marriage.

"Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life", Jordan, whose real name is Katie Price told the Press Association.

"This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation but I will always love my Pete," she added.

According to a spokeswoman Jordan left the country last night with three-year-old son, Junior and one-year-old daughter, Princess, her children by pop singer Andre.

Her eldest child, Harvey, from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke, was at home with a nanny.

Jordan, 30, and Andre, 36, met while filming the reality television show "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me out of Here" in the Australian jungle.

The celebrity couple, who wed in a lavish ceremony at Highclere Castle in Hampshire a year later in 2005, have two children, a three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter.

The former model has in recent years turned her talents to writing, churning out several autobiographies, a series of children's book and an advice column, as well as designing.

"Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage..." a statement on behalf of the couple said on Monday.

"They have both requested that the media respect their families' privacy at this difficult time."

The couple, who released a duets album in 2006, have regularly appeared in gossip magazines discussing their relationship.

The pair were photographed last month running the London Marathon together.
