Every woman wants to look beautiful every single day of her life, and more so on her wedding day. To cater to this very whim, Lakme in association with Saundarya Kala Byawasayi is organising the first ever ‘Lakme Bridal Make-up Competition’. According to a Lakme press statement issued on June 11, the competition, to be held on June 21, is a platform for beauticians from all over the country to showcase their talent.

Thirty finalists from a total of 150 participants were shortlisted on June 10 by a panel of judges comprising Sneh Rana, Prajani Rana and Srijana Yonjan. They were selected based on their ability to apply general make-up.

The finalists will be asked to do their models’ make-up in the bridal style of their choice. They will be demonstrating bridal makeover of a few ethnic groups covering from the Himalayan to the Tarai region. They will be judged on the make-up, hairstyle and bridal dress.

The winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

There will be a session by Kamala Shrestha, who will demonstrate the latest trends on make-up, while singers will be performing during the event.
