KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 15
Nepal's famous folk-rock band Nepathya captivated the Nepali diasporas in Melbourne with its popular numbers, as part of its Australia tour of Monday.
The show was staged at the Forum Hall in Melbourne, where hundreds of people had turned up for the live concert, according to a press release issued by Nepalaya.
Unlike other concerts, the band started the show with music video for 'Mero Hajur', on the eve of Valentine Day.
The band played their ever-green hit songs including 'Aaganai Vari Heu nai Jhare', 'Chakyo Chekyo', 'Veda ko Unn Jasto' and 'Lampate Surati'.
As the band performed its sentimental hit 'Yo Zindagani', the audience swayed and sang with Amrit Gurung, Nepathya vocalist and social activist.
The full-house crowd was entertained with smashing hit including 'Mai Nache Chamchami', 'Resham' 'Taal ko Pani' among others.
By the time, the concert had reached its end, fans were singing and dancing along with Gurung----the concert concluded with the band performing 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya'.
On the stage, Amrit was accompanied by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shkaya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.
From there, the 13-member entourage will travel to Hobart to perform at the Odeon Theatre on Saturday.
Nepathya's Music for Humanity Australia tour 2023 kicked-off from Darwin and will conclude in Hobart of Tasmania on February 17.
