Poesy
Spread love
Love is light
Which is bright
Love tells us
Not to fight.
Don’t hate others
Or they’ll also hate you
If you love them
They’ll also love you.
— Suraj Roy, Class VII, Kathmandu Xavier’s Public School
Let’s be on time
Punctuality is an essential part of our life
It is also an essential part of nature
We can learn so many things from nature
It is an open book for us
There is punctuality in the movement
Of the sun, the moon and the stars
The seasons change their cycle on time
Therefore, everything is well in the world.
— Aparmita Shakya, Emerald Academy
Tall, tall tree
You just stand there still
But even as you stand and stare
You give relief
To our burning eyes
You protect us from landslides
You save us from
deadly floods
You give us plenty
of rain
And help farmers a lot
You provide fresh,
cool air
For the whole world
to share.
You are home to many wild animals
Birds build nest in
your breasts
Woodpeckers make home in your trunk
Wild bees and wasps make their hives
You shelter them from wind and rain
You are their caretaker, a perfect supplier.
But selfish woodcutters slaughter you
You cry in agony and pain
Yet even after your
untimely death
You still help us a lot
You give us paper to write
You provide us glue to paste.
You supply us wood
for shelter
And to cook our daily food
So, let’s join our hand
And protect the tree
Let’s not try to stab
Someone that give us
precious life.
