Pokhara, too, listens to Wye’s tales
Pokhara:
British storyteller and educationist Cassandra Wye, in order to encourage book-reading in both Nepali and English, read stories with teachers, students, guardians in Pokhara on December 9 and 10.
Wye is in Nepal for ‘Stories in Motion’ organised by the British Council Nepal.
She read out stories to the general public at the Pokhara Exhibition Centre, Naya Bazaar and to students and teachers of the Gandaki boarding school, SOS boarding and Little Step Boarding over the two days.
Her stories dwelt on the subject why reading with pleasure is necessary for children, while thousands listened to and watched Wye act it out.
Country Manager of British Council John Fry said that such stories in motion will promote reading among children.
As Wye’s stories appealed to both the sight and sound, young students were easily attracted to Wye’s electric performance.
