Say no to drugs

KATHMANDU:

June 26 is observed as an International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. To mark this day in Nepal, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Recovering Nepal (network of drug users and organisation working in the field of drug) are jointly organising a drug day infotainment mela under the theme ‘Ensure human and health rights of people who use drugs’.

This is a chance for you to find about drugs, solutions to drug problems that you or a family member might have, information about organisations involved the said field. There will be stalls by different organisations involved in drug issues, food and games stalls for all and SangSangai — a fun way of learning about HIV and sexuality.

Miss Nepal 2007 Sitashma Chand, who is the youth ambassador for Social Sensitisation Against Drugs and Drug-led Harms will be attending the event.

And all the music lovers, this is another chance for you to listen to some awesome music by your favourite musicians like Robin and the New Revolution, AXE, Cobweb and Rock sitar (featuring Bijay Vaidya). So don’t forget to be at Basantapur Dabali on June 26.
