Shangri-La to host Thai food fest
KATHMANDU: Exotic vegetables and sea food prepared in spicy and tangy ingredients, delicious presentation and live Thai music in background sounds just perfect. Hotel Shangri La in association with the Thai Embassy and Thai Airways is presenting the Thai Food Promotion for the second time after its immense popularity last year.
At the press meet organised at the hotel on August 27, Thai Ambassador Vanvisa Thamrongnavasawat, General Manager of Thai Airways (Nepal and Bhutan) Prasert Tanhansa, and General Manager of Shangri La Raju Bikram Shah, were present at the meet.
Mohan Khanal, the hotel’s Manager of Sales and Marketing, briefed the media about the event and various activities that will take place. They have flown in three Thai chefs and two culinary experts with support from the Thai Embassy to prepare exotic Thai dishes for the festival. They are also giving away a special door prize to a person, who will win Kathmandu-Bangkok-Kathmandu air ticket sponsored by Thai airways. The formal inauguration of the festival will take place on August 29 which will be inaugurated by Ambassador Thamrongnavasawat, HAN President Prakash Shrestha, and Chairman of Shangri La Hotel and Resort Shyam B Panday.
The festival will be open to the general public from August 30 till September 12.
Different menu for lunch and dinner will be served along with soothing Thai music at the Shambala Garden Café where the décor is done to give the perfect Thai ambience.
