Strutting with style

Kathmandu:

It all started with 18 participants boogying to hit numbers like One Love, Where’s the party tonight and Right here right now. Altogether 11 pretty damsels and 7 hunks were assembled at the Star venue on March 25 to contend for the title of Mr and Ms INIFD (International Institute of Fashion Designing) all dressed up in western outfit.

A panel of judges comprising Tara Nath Dahal (Chairman of National News Agency), Madhura Karki (Assistant Dean of Pulchowk Engineering College), Ruby Rana (First Miss Nepal), Prakash Shrestha (Senior Singer) and Rajbhai Suwal had chosen the final 18 participants in the preliminary rounds, which was conducted at the school itself.

After the introductory round, 12 contestants who were able to make it to the finals walked the ramp in ethnic outfits. But it seemed that the participants knew more than just strutting their stuff on the ramp as they answered the judges’ questions with confidence and poise. While the emcees and others were busy choosing six finalists for the final round, Pratikchhya Subba sang two songs and received huge round of applauds for her brilliant performance, Priyanka Rimal, Kanchan Pandey and Mala Lacoul danced to hit remix numbers. But the best part of the evening was the performance by veteran singer Kunti Moktan who mesmerised the audience with her soulful numbers Mathi Mathi Sailunge ma and Dali Dali ma.

Neeraj Shrestha and Saloni Agarwal clinched the titles of Mr and Ms INIFD respectively. Similarly, Pratikchhya Subba, Mala Lacoul and Priyanka Rimal bagged away the titles for Best talent, Best Dress and Best Photogenic respectively. After the award ceremony, the audiences once again hit the dance floor with the participants.
