Darjeeling is a beautiful place and we love Darjeeling more so today for giving us Prashant Tamang — Indian Idol 3.

Prashant has proved that if a person has will power and luck, then nothing can block his path. He has shown that firm determination leads us to success. I want to thank Darjeeling not only for Prashant, but also for other singers and musicians, who make us feel proud to be Nepalis.

Nepal is facing political, soical and economic problems. However, Prashant’s victory has made us forget this all our problems.

Music is something that changes the moods and mode of life — from a sad to a happy person, from an angry to a happy man. Music is the symbol of peace, harmony and

happiness.

People came out on the streets and danced and sang and shouted with joy after Darjeeling’s Prashant Tamang was declared Indian Idol 3. There was only one word on people’s lips ‘Prashant’. Not only in India, even in Nepal one could see crowds on the streets in all the cities. The night of September 23 was celebrated in the name of Prashant’s success.

But why are we Nepalis so proud of him? Why do we like him so much?

The one and only answer for this question is that Prashant has given a whole new identity not only to the people of Darjeeling but to all Nepalis all over the world. Who had ever imagined that a boy of Nepali origin could be the Indian Idol?

Prashant’s success proves that all Nepalis are one though they are spread all over the world.
