THE WORLD THIS WEEK: Lions’ new high-tech playmate
A pride of lions at a safari park in Scotland have got a high-tech playmate to help them with their hunting skills. The LionRover3 is designed to look like prey for the big cats at Blair Drummond Safari Park in Stirling to keep them on their toes and stop them getting bored.
Feeding live prey to lions is illegal in the UK, and keepers hope the remote-controlled rob-oprey would be a good alternative for them to chase. But it seems the lions are a bit nervous. A park spokesman said, “Lions are intelligent animals and if they are not sure about something they will hang back until they know it’s safe.”
