KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 30

The Paleti program in memory of singer Phatteman was held last Friday and Saturday at Nepalaya's 'r' Sala in Kalikasthan. This event was organized to commemorate the singer's 89th birth anniversary, coinciding with the two-day program.

In a statement today, Nepalaya said, "Paleti, a short musical initiative, was launched nearly 21 years ago with the aim of celebrating and preserving Nepali musical heritage."

The event, which lasted nearly one hour and forty-five minutes, featured performances of 13 of Phatteman's most popular songs. The program opened with the rendition of his immensely popular song, "Yesto Pani Hundo Rechha," followed by a recital of musical essays.

The songs presented during the program included compositions by notable musicians such as Madhav Ghimire, Natikaji, Yadav Kharel, Ambar Gurung, Shivshankar, Ramman Trishit, Gyanbahadur Shrestha, Narayan Gopal, Kaliprasad Rizal, Achyut Krishna Kharel, Sahadev Rana, Bikram Subba, Tirthraj Tuladhar, and Manjul, reads the statement.

The singing segment was led by young vocalist Rupak Chaudhary, accompanied by Milesh Tandukar on tabla, Milan Ghimire on flute, Sundarkumar Maharjan on percussion, Kripesh Lohani on guitar, Sudip Khatri on bass guitar, and Sunil Singh on keyboard.

Musician and singer Abhas will perform a selection of new and popular songs on December 26th and 27th, the last Friday and Saturday of the month, according to the statement.
