Unconventional bridal wear

Kathmandu:

The second day of Lakmé Nepal Fashion Week saw the bridal collection of 36 designers. Variety of attires for different occasions of a wedding ceremony was presented by the designers.

From saris to evening gowns, from lehengas to short dresses, there was something for everybody. The apparels on the ramp were designed not only for the bride but also for all those pretty ladies attending the functions. Colourful saris with intricate embroidery with some touch of gold were seen in most of the designers’ creations. However some of the designers did go for the unconventional approach with their designs and colours. While some others dealt with fusion by adding a hint of traditional style to the modern designs.

Red was not the dominant colour, as the designers played with other colours like blue, purple and different shades of orange and pink. In terms of materials, the collections had popular ones like chiffon, georgette, tissue, brocade and silk, among others.

The various themes of the bridal collection were haute reception, 21st century bride, mystic chic and seraphim, among others. Like the first day designers had celebrities like singer Nirnaya Shrestha, VJ Pallavi Dhakal and photographer Dipankar Kasaju walk the ramp for their show.
