Virtual Alice online

The handwritten original copy of kids’ classic Alice in Wonderland is now available for everyone to leaf through. It’s in a collection called Turning the Pages, which also includes precious old atlases and religious texts. The books, which are too delicate to be handled all the time, have been scanned by the British Library, and put online. Thanks to a smart piece of software, you can turn the pages, just like you were reading a real book, but without the risk of damaging it. The online version of Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll and originally called Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, features a voiceover by Miriam Margolyes.
