Flood in Dordi rivulet has swept away 14 houses while putting 50 other houses at risk in Hilebazaar of Dordi rural municipality-8 in Lamjung district.

Ward chairperson Tul Bahadur Ghale said that the flood in the rivulet following incessant rainfall from Sunday has swept away 14 houses from Tuesday afternoon till this morning.

Out of the 160 houses at Helebazaar, 50 houses are at the risk of falling prey to disasters, he added. Similarly, five-six high-station electric poles have fallen down due to the swelling up of the rivulet.

Movement along suspension bridge has been disrupted due to electric wires that have fallen from the electric pole.

Roads leading to district headquarters and rural municipality centre from Hilebazaar have also been damaged.

The locals have now been kept at Phaleni Secondary School and some houses located at the high area of the bazaar.

Issues have now emerged to bring the relief materials to affected areas as roads have been damaged.

Power service has also been disrupted in the area and water level in the rivelet is increasing.

Ghale shared that they have informed the District Administration Office to provide immediate relief to the affected people.
