KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4

Cloudy skies are set to blanket the nation today, offering a chance of light rain and snowfall in various regions, according to the Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD).

According to the MFD, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to witness light rainfall, while similar conditions might occur in certain spots within Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. However, rainfall chances are limited in Bagmati province, with only a few areas likely to see any precipitation, as well as one or two spots elsewhere in the country.

Over the past 24 hours, Nepalgunj recorded 0.1 mm of rainfall, while traces of rain were observed in Dipayal and Dhangadhi.

Additionally, there's a likelihood of light to moderate snowfall in high-altitude areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as a few places in other mountainous regions of the country.

As night falls, the weather will remain mostly cloudy nationwide, with the possibility of light rain in parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as scattered areas in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and isolated spots in other hilly regions.

The MFD also predicts a chance of light snowfall in select high-altitude areas tonight.

Currently, the country is under the influence of western winds.
