KATHMANDU, AUGUST 11
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast generally cloudy weather across the country today, with moderate rainfall likely in many hilly regions and some Terai areas.
Heavy rainfall is possible at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Terai belts of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, moderate rainfall is expected at several locations in Madhesh Province and in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with scattered showers possible in other areas.
Heavy rain may occur in parts of Koshi and in the Terai belts of Madhesh, Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
For the Kathmandu Valley, DHM forecasts generally cloudy skies with rain this afternoon, a maximum temperature of 26–28°C, and a 60% chance of precipitation. Tonight will remain cloudy with rain, a minimum temperature of 20–22°C, and the same rain probability.
The monsoon's low-pressure axis remains near its average position across Nepal's Terai belt, keeping monsoon conditions active across the country.
