KATHMANDU, AUGUST 8
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the country today, with moderate rainfall likely in many areas.
According to the DHM, hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to see moderate rain at numerous locations, while some parts of the remaining hilly regions and a few areas of Madhesh Province and other Terai belts could also receive showers.
Heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.
Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is expected at some locations in Madhesh Province, along with hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
A few places in the hilly and Terai regions of the remaining provinces may also see rain. Heavy rainfall could occur at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
According to the DHM, the monsoon's low-pressure axis is currently situated north of its average position, lying over Nepal's Tarai belt. While monsoon conditions prevail across the country, the influence of moisture-laden winds appears slightly weaker than usual.
