Monsoon system remains active across the country

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 3

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many parts of the country today, with chances of heavy rainfall in Koshi Province and Madhesh Province, and at one or two places in other provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide, with moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at some places in other regions.

According to the DHM, the monsoon system remains active across the country, with the monsoon trough positioned slightly north of its average location.

In the Kathmandu Valley, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy with rain and thundershowers, with maximum temperatures between 27°C and 29°C and an 80% chance of rain during the day.

At night, similar weather conditions are likely, with minimum temperatures ranging from 29°C to 31°C and a 60% chance of rain.
