KATHMANDU, MAY 18

An Indian woman climber successfully scaled Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in just less than 27 hours, organizers said.

Rishi Bhandari, Managing Director at Satori Adventure, Yaashi Jain from Chhattisgarh, India reached the summit point of Mt Everest at 5:55 am on May 17 and she ascended Mt Lhotse at 08:25 am on May 18.

"She climbed the world's highest peak before leaving for her next attempt on the fourth tallest peak," he said, adding that she was guided by experienced Sherpa climbers from Satori Adventure," he said, adding that she was probably the first woman climber from India to have scaled both mountains in the shortest period of time.

Similarly, Dedhia Mithil Raju, a 17-year-old climber, scaled Mt Everest on May 17, becoming the youngest Indian climber to stand atop the world's highest peak from Nepal side, Bhandari claimed. "The Mumbai-based climber stood atop Everest along with Mingma Temba Sherpa and Dorji Sherpa," he said.

From Satori Adventure, Sunil Kumar, 32, also scaled Mt Everest and Lhotse in the last two days, he informed. "Sunil was with Furte Sherpa and Thuptang Sherpa when they reached the summit points."
