Monsoon remains active across Nepal, with heavy rain forecast in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim.

Heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of Nepal on Monday, with the Meteorological Forecasting Division warning of very heavy rain in some areas as the monsoon continues to affect the country.
The weather will remain generally cloudy nationwide, with moderate rain expected across many hilly areas. Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is also likely in parts of the Terai, particularly in Koshi, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The division has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, and the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini Province.
Very heavy rain possible tonight
Rainfall is expected to continue into the night, with moderate rain and thunderstorms likely across many hilly areas and parts of the Terai.
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki, and at a few places in parts of Karnali, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces. One or two places in these areas could receive very heavy rainfall, according to the forecast.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough positioned around its average location.
Kathmandu, Pokhara among cities expecting rain
Kathmandu is expected to see moderate rain with thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging between 26°C and 28°C during the day and 20°C to 22°C at night. The probability of rain is 70 per cent during the day.
Pokhara could receive moderate rain and thunderstorms during the day, with temperatures between 27°C and 29°C. Heavy rain with thunderstorms is forecast for the night, with a 70 per cent chance of rainfall.
Dhangadi is expected to reach 30°C to 32°C, while Nepalgunj could see temperatures of 30°C to 32°C. Both cities have a 60 per cent chance of rain during the day.
Simara and Janakpur could record highs of 31°C to 33°C, while Biratnagar and Dharan are forecast to reach 31°C to 33°C.
In the hills, Dadeldhura is expected to remain relatively cool, with temperatures between 22°C and 24°C and a 70 per cent chance of rain. Jomsom could see temperatures of 21°C to 23°C during the day and 14°C to 16°C at night.
