PHUNGLING, JULY 1

China has provided food materials to the people of Olangchungola and Yangma of Taplejung district.

China provided 2,000 packets of rice, 500 packets of all-purpose flour, edible oil, and salt, among other food stuffs, to households.

Food stuffs worth Rs five million were provided to them.

People of Olangchungola and Yangma areas have started heading towards the bordering area as Chinese officials returned after leaving the food stuffs at the border area one week ago.

Ward 7 Chairperson of Phaktanglung Chhetan Bhote said the food stuffs had been kept at the building constructed by China at the border.

China has been providing food stuffs and health supplies to the community on the Nepal-China border and mountainous settlements.

Bhote said they had started fetching the food stuffs provided by China to Olangchungola from Monday. Similarly, Yangma folks also started fetching food stuffs from Tuesday.
