BAJURA, JULY 3

Shanti Sewa Griha in coordination with Badimalika Khabar has provided food materials to the flood victims in Bajura today.

The organisation helped 28 flood victim families, who had lost their houses and lands in the flood and landslides. The relief materials were distributed to six families of Budhinanda Municipality, ten families in Swamikartik Khaper and twelve families of Badimalika Municipality.

Badimalika Municipality Deputy Mayor Kabita Bista said rice, pulses, salt and cooking oil, among other food stuffs, were distributed to flood and landslide affected families.

Programme Coordinator at Shanti Sewa Griha Bijendra Kunwar said that food materials had been offered to flood victims of 28 families in the first phase. He said Sewa Griha would also help disaster victims in the days to come.

The relief materials were distributed to the victims in coordination with the local levels.

Kunwar said food materials were provided to flood victims with the help of German Citizen Marianne grospietch.

A victim, Gorakha Bista, in Badimalika Municipality, said that food items distributed by the griha was a big support to the victims in the crisis.

Another victim, Dhane Luwar in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality, said that the floods and landslides had destroyed all the property and they were in huge crisis. "I am hardly able to run my family working as a daily wager," he said. Luwar said that he was struggling hard for daily meals.

Shanti Sewa Griha had also helped the people with food materials during the coronavirus pandemic, earlier.

Marianne grospietch has been involved in social service for the last 35 years across the world. She had started Shanti Sewa Griha in Nepal. Sewa Griha helps rescue the stranded children and also provides help to people in their treatment.

Programme Director of Shanti Sewa Griha Apsara Karkiv said that the organisation had also helped health facilities with oxygen cylinders and other medical supplies.
