KATHMANDU, MAY 4
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (MFD) has forecast partly to generally cloudy weather across the country today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds likely in some areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, as well as the hilly regions.
A few places in other provinces may also witness similar weather. Light rainfall or snowfall is expected at a few locations in the high mountainous region.
Tonight, the hilly regions will remain partly to generally cloudy, while the Terai is expected to be partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hills and at one or two places in the Terai. The high mountains may see light snowfall or rain at isolated spots.
In the Kathmandu Valley, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy, with brief rain or thundershowers expected during the day. The maximum temperature is forecast to range between 23–25°C, while tonight's minimum may drop to 14–16°C.
According to the MFD, the current weather pattern is influenced by a westerly disturbance, local wind systems, and moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal.
