KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4
The Child Health and Immunization Service Section under the Family Welfare Division of the Ministry of Health and Population has announced the launch of a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign to prevent cervical cancer.
The campaign will be conducted from February 8 to February 27, although the exact date and time may vary by local level, according to the Section.
The HPV vaccine will be administered at respective schools, nearby schools, or designated health institutions. Beneficiaries have been advised to obtain details from their local schools or health facilities.
The campaign targets all girls studying in Grade 6, out-of-school girls aged 10 years, and those who missed the HPV vaccination during last year's campaign. This includes girls currently studying in Grades 7 to 10 and out-of-school girls aged 11 to 14 years.
The Ministry has urged parents, guardians, and concerned stakeholders to ensure eligible girls receive the vaccine within the campaign period to help reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
