KATHMANDU, MAY 18
Nepal has been unanimously elected Vice President of the 79th World Health Assembly, the decision-making body of the World Health Organization.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal was elected during the opening session of the assembly held in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday.
Health and Population Minister Nisha Mehata, who is leading the Nepali delegation, is scheduled to address the assembly later today.
The 79th World Health Assembly is being held in Geneva from May 18 to 23, bringing together global health leaders to discuss key health priorities.
