1 killed, another injured in Tokha bike-jeep collision

KATHMANDU: A youth died and another sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a jeep in Tokha Municipality-5 of Kathmandu district on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Santosh Nepali (26) of Syangja district, currently residing in Machhapokhari of Kathmandu, and injured as pillion rider Arjun Bohara.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 40 Pa  5775) and the jeep (Ba 3 Cha 1654) collided with each other at 11:00 pm yesterday, injuring the Nepali and Bohara duo, according to police.

The injured duo were rushed to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hopital where Nepali breathed his last during the course of treatment, while Bohara has been undergoing treatment there, informed Yogendra Singh Thapa, Chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the jeep and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
