KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police Sector, New Bus Park, has confiscated 2,000 litres of illicit home-made alcohol from various hotels and pubs in Gongabu area.

A team led by Sub-Inspector Prakash Bahadur Rauthad raided the hotels, restaurants and pubs in Gongabu area on Friday night and confiscated the illicit liquor.

Chief of the Sector, Mohan Bikram KC said a campaign has been started to free the area of such home-brewed alcohol as alcohol consumption was cited as the reason for increasing disputes and quarrels which lead to violence and murder.

Prior to this, the Sector had confiscated and destroyed nearly 5,000 litres of home-made liquor from this area.
