KATHMANDU, MAY 11
Kathmandu valley witnessed as many as 3,927 fresh coronavirus infections on Tuesday.
The capital city recorded 2,788 cases while adjacent districts Lalitpur and Bhaktapur witnessed 602 and 537 cases respectively today.
Today's total cases in the valley accounts for 42.14 per cent of the nationwide infections. As many as 9,317 intra-day cases were recorded today across the country.
Kathmandu continues to be the district with highest number of infections logged in the last 24 hours. Similarly, Rupandehi is second in line with 709 infections, while Lalitpur stands third.
Total number of active cases in Kathmandu is 29,144 as of today, which in Lalitpur is 6,559, and in Bhaktapur is 4,519. Kathmandu has recorded 150,550 total infections until today. The same in Lalitpur is 25,398 and in Bhaktapur is 14,994.
The total number of deaths in Kathmandu till date is 913, that in Lalitpur is 253, and in Bhaktapur is 188.
The country itself recorded a total of 225 Covid-related fatalities today, which totals to 4,084 deaths till date. The death rate (total deaths by total positive cases) as of today is 0.98 per cent.
As many as 30 districts host active cases above 500 -- Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Rautahat, Dhanusha, Parsa, Mahottari, Bara, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kavrepanlanchowk, Makawanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Kaski, Gorkha, Nawalparasi (East), Dang, Banke, Rupandehi, Palpa, Bardiya, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi (West), Surkhet, Kailali, Kanchanur, and Baitadi.
Likewise, 18 districts have over 200 active cases. They are Sarlahi, Siraha, Saptari, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Parbat, Tanahun, Myagdi, Syangja, Lamjung, Baglung, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Dailekh, Dadheldhura, Doti, and Achham.
