The Kathmandu valley is reeling under surging cases of the coronavirus infection as more than 3600 fresh cases have been detected in the three districts, on Monday.
According to the data made available by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), at least 3,666 persons in the Kathmandu valley were diagnosed with the highly contagious respiratory infection in the past 24 hours.
Among the reported cases in the valley today, most cases were traced in the Kathmandu district with 2,922 testing positive while adjacent districts Bhaktapur and Lalitpur reported 222 and 522 new cases, respectively.
As Monday's nation-wide COVID-19 tally hit all time high with 7,388 cases, almost 50 percent of those cases were reported from the Kathmandu valley sending worrying signs for the valley denizens.
