KATHMANDU, JUNE 14

The 7th International Science Conference, Kathmandu Chapter-2.0, concluded with grand success and grandeur at DAV College, Lalitpur on Thursday. The three-day event, held under the theme "Global Approaches in Agricultural, Biological, Environment and Life Sciences for Sustainable Future (GABELS-2024)," featured hybrid participation from 14 countries.

Dr. Surendra Lal Shrestha, Executive Director of NAARC, served as the Chief Guest. He praised the enthusiasm of the participants and highlighted the conference's potential to address pressing global issues while without compromising the safety of future generation.

Anil Kedia, Chairperson of DAV College, welcomed the science scholars and emphasized the conference's significance in advancing agriculture, biology, environment, and life sciences for sustainable future.

Research presentations covered diverse topics such as artificial intelligence in agriculture, nano-materials, global millets (shree anna), and agri-business management.

The event was organized by the Agricultural Technology Development Society (ATDS) Ghaziabad, in collaboration with DAV College and co-organized by 14 government agencies and research units from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.

The conference featured 1,617 abstracts, with 650 participants attending physically and others virtually. There were 365 oral presentations and 280 poster presentations held physically, with an additional 380 oral and 410 poster presentations conducted virtually. Topics ranged from agronomy and genetics to microbiology, chemistry, and biotechnology.

Key organizing committee members included Prof. Dr. A. P. Garg (Organizing Chairman), Dr. Joginder Singh (Secretary), Dr. S.P. Bista (Managing Chairman and Co-convenor), and Mr. Shashi Bhushan Chatturvedi (Co-convenor).

The conference awarded 24 categories of Global International Conference Awards (ATDS 2024) to distinguished delegates, including life-time achievements and honors for young academics. Thirty co-conveners and 20 organizing committee members played pivotal roles in the event's success.

Prof. Dr. A. P. Garg expressed gratitude to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and the people of Nepal for their contributions. Notable contributions from DAV College included Richa Chaudhary, Sudip Adhikari, Shrilata Wagle, Anjana Chaudhary, and Seema Adhikari, ensuring the successful completion of the conference.
