Absconding robbery convict held from Balkhu

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested an absconding robbery convict from Balkhu of Kathmandu.

Sujan Khatri (24) from Balkhu, KMC-14 was convicted in a robbery case by the Kathmandu District Court on February 6, 2014. The Court had sent him to jail for one year, seven months and 18 days.

He was absconding since then.

But, a team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police caught him from Balkhu today.

He was presented before the Court today itself and the Court sent him to the Central Jail, Jagannath Dewal, to execute the sentence.

According to police, Khatri had robbed Bibek Shrestha of Rs 14,500 by brandishing a knife in Balkhu on September 23, 2013.
