KATHMANDU: An "unfamiliar" accident in Thankot of Chandragiri Municipality has claimed life of a teenage girl on Friday.

Police said the bus (Ba 2 Kha 3511) was parked on a roadside by its driver Buddhi Narayan Jimi. Later his daughter Manju (17) played with the bus gear and unfortunately the bus started to reverse.

The girl panicked in no time and tried to get out of the bus before being seriously injured as she fell on the road.

She was rushed to Sahid Memorial Hospital in Kalanki for treatment where she succumbed to injuries.

Police said they arrested the driver and impounded the bus for further investigation.
