AG submits annual report to president

Kathmandu, February 1

Attorney General Basanta Ram Bhandari today submitted the Office of the Attorney General’s annual report to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, recommending to the government to sign  extradition treaties with the concerned countries to control organised crimes.

Amid a programme held at the Office of President, the AG submitted the annual report of the fiscal 2016-17 in accordance with Article 159 of the constitution.

The AG office in its report also stressed on forming separate specialised agencies to investigate crimes. The report recommended the government to make law to control networking business and hundi, and bring those in the ambit of law.

The report stated that posting of government attorneys should be fulfilled and one additional posting of government attorney should be created for every 200 cases. “To make the work of govAGernment attorneys effective, law regarding their terms and condition should be made,” reads the report.
