KATHMANDU: A man involved in threatening businesspersons and police personnel of murder has been arrested.

Identified as Sajan Gurung aka Nachok (28) of Semjung VDC-8 of Dhading district, living an underground life in New Road of Kathmandu was arrested from New Road, informed police.

He was also involved in extorting contractors of Nuwakot-Dhading road section of Rs 2 million, police added.

Police have confiscated a knife, an identity card of Election Commission of India with Gurung's photo issued in the name of Hemant Gurung.

Gurung was absconding after murdering Pahalman Tamang aka Pawan of Semjung VDC-6 in Dhading with a sharp weapon, the Metropolitan Police Crime Division said.

In a similar case, Karjon Gurung (18) of the same VDC, currently residing in Tarakeshwor Municipality-11, was also arrested.

He was involved in extortion and hooliganism and had been collecting and supplying the information about police to the goon leaders, who intended to attack police.

Gurung was arrested from Balaju on Tuesday and is under further investigation.
