Baniya elected NC Kathmandu President
KATHMANDU: Krishna (Sabuj) Baniya has been elected the district President of Nepali Congress, Kathmandu.
The district convention held in Bhrikutimandap in the Capital on Wednesday elected Baniya, shared Election Officer Sarbagya Raj Nayale.
Out of total 1,222 votes, Baniya secured 653 against 565 received by his close contender Bhimsen Das Pradhan.
Likewise, Raj Kumar Nakarmi and Govidna Pudasaini from the Baniya panel got elected to the posts of Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Nakarmi gained total 669 votes while Pudasaini 649.
