Cabinet expansion very likely today

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is all set to expand the Cabinet today.

PM Oli and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held discussions in this connection at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar this morning.

A meeting of the CPN-UML Standing Committee on Tuesday gave the responsibility of taking the final decision on selection of the ministers to represent the party in the government to the party Chairman and Prime Minister Oli.

Day-to-day works of the different ministries have been affected due to the delay in giving full shape to the Council of Ministers after Oli's election to the post of Prime Minister.

"The Prime Minister and party Chairman Oli is prepared to expand the Council of Ministers today," Secretary at the UML Central Office Krishna Gopal Shrestha said, adding that there should not be any more delay in this.

A meeting of the top leaders of the party on Wednesday had decided to give full shape to the Council of Ministers after holding consultations with other parties in the ruling coalition.
