CBES faction suspends Mainali

Kathmandu, August 19:

A day after the Chure Bhawar Ekta Samaj Party chairman Keshav Prasad Mainali dissolved the party’s central committee, a rival faction suspended him for three months with effect from today. The faction also sought clarification from Mainali within three days.

Naming himself the acting president of the party, Megh Bahadur Thapa said the party took action against Mainali for his ‘undemocratic’ and ‘autocratic’ behaviour and accused him of voting against the party policy during the Presidential and Prime Ministerial elections for money and post.

Claiming that Mainali had earlier authorised him to work as the acting president, Thapa said Mainali did not have the authority to dissolve the central committee.

Mainali, the only Constituent Assembly member form the party, refuted the allegations levelled

against him as baseless.
