Documents to be submitted by hospital to CCMC before releasing Covid victim's dead body

KATHMANDU, MAY 04

The Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) has introduced additional Covid-19 helpdesks that will function 24 hours from today.

With an alarming rise in the number of infections across the country during the second wave of the viral disease, CCMC, in a press release, urged people with medical emergencies to dial 102 for ambulance assistance.

People are requested to dial 1140 or write an email at rcmc.ops76@gmail.com for Dead Body Management related inquiries. Likewise, CCMC urged people to dial 105 to inquire about people associated with Dead Body Management related works.

Similarly, before releasing any Covid victim's body from the hospital, documents such as death certificate, Covid-19 positive report, and a letter from the hospital to CCMC will be required as per the Dead Body Management Protocol.

Likewise, to limit the risk of infection, families should get a letter from the local CCMC before cremating members who pass away due to Covid-19 while in home isolation.

Helpline workers will share relevant information with the callers following the Covid-19 guidelines.
