Changes sought in curriculum

The educationists today expressed the need for changes in the physics curriculum of higher secondary education to keep up with the recent developments in the subject as well as to gain competitive advantage in the contemporary world. The educationists expressed these views during a one-day workshop organised by the Campion Group of Higher Secondary Schools.
Senior physics teachers from 35 higher secondary schools, subject committee members and subject experts from HSEB and Tribhuwan University, HSEB officers and officers from Campion institutions participated in the workshop. The workshop on reviewing the curriculum of physics was organised to make necessary changes in the subject so as to make it timely.
Chief of curriculum, DB Karki, hoped that the workshop would come up with fruitful outcome to help the HSEB in updating physics curriculum. Issuing a press release here today, the Campion Group of Higher Secondary Schools stated that the workshop identified the problems and recommended solutions to make physics curriculum more effective. The report of the workshop endorsed by the subject experts was submitted to the HSEB. The workshop was inaugurated by Nagendra Bahadur Thapa, vice-chairman of the HSEB.
