KATHMANDU, MAY 28
Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has formed a five-member Constitutional Bench to hear the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives, on Friday.
Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Bam Kumar Shrestha, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Tej Bahadur KC will join the bench which will be led by CJ Rana, that will begin the proceedings today.
Justice KC is the only one that was also included in the last constitutional bench formed to hear the writs against the first house dissolution by KP Sharma Oli government.
The single bench of CJ Rana had sent 19 writ petitions to the constitutional bench on Thursday which will be heard along with 11 petitions that were registered to the bench earlier.
The petition filed by the 146 former lawmakers of the dissolved HoR demanding the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as PM is one among the 30 writs.
