Coomaraswamy holds talks with Dahal

KATHMANDU: Radhika Coomaraswamy, UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict met UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s residence in Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu on Wednesday morning.

According to sources, the duo discussed about the discharge of about 3,000 disqualified Maoist combatants from the cantonments. There are around 1000 disqualified Maoist PLA fighters are in the cantonments. The Maoists and the government have not agreed on the action plan on the proposed package by the government to discharge the minors though they have agreed theoretically.
