Cops arrest fugitive

Kathmandu, March 19:

The Metropolitan Police arrested Bikash Tamang, 20, who was allegedly involved in opening fire at businessman Shashikanta Agrawal on February 26 at Baneshwor height, from Bouddhanagar yesterday.

DSP Gorakh Bahadur Bhandari at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Naya Baneshwor, said that the police seized a revolver, three cartridges of the revolver and the two motorcycles used by the culprits to shoot Agrawal. Bhandari said the gang is learnt to have worked as per the order of a person who stays outside the country. “The gang leader has been identified,” he said, declining to disclose details. The police have arrested three persons in connection with the case and Tamang was evading police arrest.

Meanwhile, the police arrested Rabanjit Lama, Raju Lama and Amit Kumar Tamang from different places after they found they were involved in stealing motorcycles in Kathmandu, the police said. The police said they also seized two country-made pistols and three cartridges from them.
